Skylarks Barn

Skylarks is a beautiful detached barn conversion in a peaceful rural setting with full self-catering amenities. Ideally situated in central Cornwall, and close to the delights of both coasts, and rolling fields, this is the perfect spot for walkers and cyclists. Free parking and secure e-bike charging are also available.

The Living Area

Skylarks has a really spacious open plan layout with the sun streaming through skylights in the kitchen area. It has been lovingly restored keeping the original rustic features including exposed wood beams and oak lintels. In the bright and airy living area there is a cosy wood-burner with logs provided.

Kitchen / Diner

Skylarks has a very well-equipped bright kitchen with a large dining table. The kitchen provides you with appliances for all your self-catering needs including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer. You will have all you need for picnics on days out, as well as al-fresco dining here at Bolotho Barns.

The Bathroom

The luxurious bathroom has a roll top bath and walk-in shower. Fluffy towels, bathrobes and organic Trevarno toiletries, made locally, are provided. There is a welcome bottle of award-winning Camel Valley wine and local Kernow chocolates waiting for you on arrival.

The Bedroom

Skylarks offers a particularly large separate bedroom, with a king size sleigh-bed with crisp white linen, and its own dedicated workspace. With the sunlight pouring through the windows, and the sound of the trees beyond the courtyard, this is the perfect room to relax and unwind in. We can also cater for babies; with cots, toys, and baby baths available.

Outside Space

The private patio, equipped with sun-loungers, barbecue and dining area, has steps directly leading to the apple and cherry orchard and our two acre paddock beyond. Guests are free to walk around our land and walk your dogs. You may come across an occasional shy deer as well as the many wild birds who make their home here such as kites, swallows, barnowls and pheasants.

Books and local maps

From Truro take the A39 Truro-Falmouth Road, after 1 mile turn right towards Kea church. Turn left at the first crossroads, turn left at the next crossroads and Bolotho drive is immediately on your left. Drive to the very end of the driveway then turn sharp right just in front of the white house into Bolotho Barns courtyard (not into the courtyard of the white farmhouse).

For your cottage, Skylarks, please park in front of hazel fence on the left as you drive into the courtyard.

Please drive slowly on the farm lane. Note that sat navs are not always reliable for our address, but google maps finds us well by searching for Bolotho Barns.

Dogs are very welcome at Skylarks, and we provide a warm welcome for your four-legged friends, with dog bowls, blankets, toys and Cornish doggie treats.

We can also cater for babies with high chairs, cots, toys and baby baths available.

You’ll be able to enjoy a bottle bottle of Camel Valley Wine and Kernow Chocolates when you arrive – a gift from us to make sure you start your holiday on a great note!

We’re lucky to live and work in a beautiful part of the country and we’re committed to keeping it that way. That’s why we’re ecologically focused; the cleaning products provided (all Ecover or similar) are chosen with their environmental credentials in mind, recycling and composting facilities are provided and encouraged, and we also partner with a sustainable laundry provider, White Cloud.

The owners live next door to the cottage and are on hand to give advice and recommendations on a variety of local activities and restaurants. Bolotho Barns are particularly well located for a range of water sports on both coasts, bike trails with bike hire and beautiful coastal, moorland and forest walks.

Bolotho Barns is Visit England 5 Star and Gold award rating, as well as Covid ‘Good to Go’ certified.
